Description
Thursday the 15th of June, 2017, will be embedded in my memory,’ as the day my life would change forever, and would never be the same again. I greeted the summer day eager to face the world with my free-spirited independence as always, but would end the day lying in Intensive Care with a ventilating tube down my throat. Billions of people get out of bed, each day, without any problem, and that was true in my case for my entire life until now when everything went horribly wrong. In my book, 10 Seconds That Changed My Life, I describe what it was like during my stay in the four hospitals. The different stages and experiences, from the highs and lows, frustations and elation. What it felt like being discharged from hospital and returning home to the ‘new normal.’ In my memoir of how life suddenly, and totally unexpectedly, changed for me in an instant, I want to encourage my readers, with or without a disabilty, never to give up on life, no matter how bad it gets, and to cherish each day.
